Always so thin and powerful. Tested, the Asus ROG Zephyrus was one of the first laptops with a GeForce GTX "Max-Q" graphics card. The next generation should arrive soon, opting this time for a new Intel processor with 6 cores. Spotted by
Guru3D, the next ROG Zephyrus is not yet official, but it soon appeared at the Swiss merchant site Mediamarkt, but since withdrawn. If we find a graphics card GeForce GTX 1080 Max-Q, as on the previous model, it is the new processor that challenges. This future notebook for gamers will indeed have a Intel Core i7-8750H generation Coffee Lake. The latter is for the moment unpublished on laptops and offers 6 cores, 9 MB of L3 cache and frequencies oscillating between 2.2 and 4.1 GHz. Added to this is 16 GB of RAM in DDR4-2400, and a SSD of 512 GB.

Design side, this Asus Zephyrus GX501 sees its chassis somewhat modified, since the touchpad is now located under the keyboard, much more conventional. We recall that the previous model had a very low keyboard on the input area and a touchpadon the right side. A choice dictated by temperature issues in the upper part of the input area, linked to the presence of a GTX 1080. It remains to be seen if, on this new model, the heat released under the keyboard will not be a problem. Apart from this difference, there is a 15.6-inch screen in Full HD and a very compact format for a laptop so well equipped. The measurements of this new model are not yet known, but they should be substantially the same as those of the first Zephyrus (17.9 mm thick, weight 2.25 kg). Finally, the price announced on Mediamarkt is 3499 Swiss francs, or about 2699 €.
